First Gen Students

A guide to the library and other resources for first generation students.

Welcome!

Hello! SU Libraries would like to congratulate you on being the first in your family to attend college. We're here to help you however we can.

What does this guide have?

This guide is an introduction to college, SU, and SU Libraries generally. It has:

  • A glossary of common library and university terms
  • A breakdown of services the library provides
  • SU resources
  • Other resources for first gen students

Where is the library on campus?

A campus map, with the locations of the main library (the GAC) and the Curriculum Resource Center in Conway highlighted.

The main library building is the Academic Commons, but there is also a satellite location in Conway Hall: the Curriculum Resource Center. Anyone is welcome in either space, regardless of major.
