Lynchings on Maryland's Lower Eastern Shore: Worcester County

Summary

While not as strong as its presence in Dorchester and Somerset counties, the Ku Klux Klan was notably active in Worcester County. Around 250 Klansmen were estimated to reside in Worcester County. Klan chapters were organized in the towns of Snow Hill, Berlin, Ocean City, and Pocomoke City, with activity taking place throughout the county.
