Here are some possible activities to do with your kids at home while schools are cancelled.

  • Google Arts and Culture: This fantastic site allows you to visit and tour virtually museums and sites all over the world. This is an excellent resource for art, history, and geography

  • Comic Book Making and Activity Pages: This is a free site from Jarrett Lerner with downloadable materials

  • The Artful Parent: Fun and creative ideas for art projects to do with your children from Jean Van't Hul

  • Red Ted Art: Cute and easy crafts for younger kids

  • Lunch Doodles with Mo Willems: Fun lessons from this Caldecott-winning illustrator, sponsored by the Kennedy Center

  • The North Carolina Museum of Art: Tremendous number of lesson plans and activity ideas (look in Quick Tips for additional ideas) for students in K-12, covering a variety of disciplines but using art as the foundation.  

  • Downloadable adult coloring sheets: From MyModernMet, links to five major sites for downloading adult coloring sheets (these may not all be appropriate for children)
