Teaching with International Students (TwINS): Plagiarism

Intro

Citations can be pain but you still need to do it! Why??

So that you can give credit where it's due. When you take someone else's work and fail to provide a citation, that is plagiarizing. You DO NOT want to do that!  Think positively - how would YOU feel if someone else was using your hard work without giving you the credit!

When you provide credible sources, you show your professor that you have done your homework properly.

Although there are many citation styles, the most commonly used ones are APA, MLA, and Chicago. Learn more about these styles in this comprehensive Citation Style LibGuide
