For every paper or project you complete at SU, you will need to include a 'works cited' page or a bibliography (a list of resources that informed your thinking on the topic).
Every source you use MUST be cited...books, articles, websites, graphics, charts, audio files, video clips, etc.
Every time you use someone else's words, or artwork, or even ideas, you MUST give them credit as the authors or creators (intellectual property owners).
There are 3 major citation methods, MLA, APA, and Chicago/Turabian. We have books in the library to help you figure out citations but we also have a citation guide with tabs for each method. Sometimes business references can be a bit tricky, so there is also a guide for Business Citations you may want to check out.
There are several citation management tools available. Here are two tutorials for commonly used citation management tools. However, there are other tools such as EndNotes Basic and Mendeley. More information about those tools can be found at the Citation Style Guide linked above.
