We'll use this guide during class, but it will also remain up for you to check as you continue your research for this project.
The guide contains the following:
You're expected to correctly cite using APA Formatting on all assignments - check the "Citing sources" tab for resources.
Assignment 1 - Due week 5
What population are you interested in learning more about in this class?
This is the population that you will research and write a paper on.
Assignment 2 – Due week 6
Submit 5 references in APA format that you may use for your population paper. At least 3 need to be scholarly, peer-reviewed sources.
Assignment 3 – Due week 7 (beginning of the week)
Annotate 5 resources that you intend to utilize in your paper. These may be the same resources that you previously identified, or different if you find some that relate better to your intended topic.
Assignment 4 - Due week 7 (end of the week)
Create an outline that will state the topic of each section of your population paper along with the resources that you believe will be used to support that section of the paper.
Assignment 5 – Due week 9
The introduction to your population paper is due, including the following information:
1. Introduce your topic.
2. Define your topic.
3. Give some history of your topic that leads to the current issue.
4. Map out what your paper will address.
5. End with your thesis.
Assignment 6 – Due Week 12
Complete your population paper. Include all parts that have been previously submitted, i.e., title page, introduction, body of the paper (using your outline topics as headers for the various sections), and Resources.
Don't forget! Your professor has examples of formatting your work for Assignments 4-6 in your Components of Population Paper handout, in Appendices A-C.
