This subject guide is primarily created for the students in Introduction to Social Work (SOWK 200) course. If/when you need help with your research process, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Depending on the topic, you will use various databases, for ex.
PsycINFO and PsycARTICLES for topics related to psychology,
ERIC - for educational topics,
and of course Social Work Abstracts which is the key database in your discipline.
Don't forget to search Academic Search Ultimate and JSTOR as these are comprehensive interdisciplinary databases.
For books, click on the appropriate tab and search the online catalog.
When you are googling for websites, keep in mind that you need to find good quality websites. 'Anything and everything' will not be acceptable as a source. So click on the Evaluating Internet Sources tab and review the criteria when you are looking at websites. Wikipedia is not an acceptable source that you can reference!
