Journal articles (which we also call Peer Reviewed articles) are where Historians and Scholars communicate their ideas. They include precise discussions of particular aspects of a larger conversation. Some articles might further an idea while some articles might counter an idea (and it might even be the same idea!). A good way to think about it is that scholarship is a conversation. You will be demonstrating this conversation in your Annotated Bibliography.
