Self-archiving in SOAR@SU

  1. Register an account:
    1. Go to MD-SOAR and click on the login button on the upper right hand side
    2. Select "Click here to register"
    3. Enter your email address (you will receive an email from MD-SOAR asking you to complete your registration)
Important note: When the MD-SOAR team receives your registration information, it must add you as a submitter to the collection associated with your program. It’s advisable that you use your SU email for registration so that the MD-SOAR team can easily identify your affiliation and program. If you are a student or are not registering with an SU email, you will need to contact the MD-SOAR team if you are planning to submit work, as they cannot identify your program affiliation by searching the SU directory.
    4. Follow the link in the email from MD-SOAR to complete your registration
Note: Once the MD-SOAR team adds you as a submitter, generally within one business day, you will be able to submit your work to the SOAR@SU collection designated for your program.
  2. Submit an item to SOAR@SU:

    4. Select a sub-community (e.g., SU Henson School of Science and Technology) and then a collection within that sub-community (e.g., SU Biological Sciences Department)
    5. Select "Submit a new item to this collection"
    6. Enter the information about your item
    7. Upload your file
    8. License your item (e.g., select the license type from the drop-down menu, e.g. a Creative Common license)
    9. Submit the SOAR@SU Distribution license, agreeing to grant SOAR@SU a non-exclusive right to reproduce, publicly display, and distribute your item at no cost to users world-wide
