Project review

"The speech must include at least 5 reliable sources that are cited both orally and on the slide where that information is discussed in at least 16 point font.

  • One of those sources will be the SU webpage on your topic and a second one will be an interview with someone connected with your topic.
  • The other three sources must be from credible published sources."

~Dr. DeWitt

Assignment and research approach

Here's a basic research approach and sources to consider along the way. Think of these sources as pieces of evidence that back up your ideas.

1. Explore topic context & primary sources (non-library sources)
2. Learn the background (library catalog: books)
3. Discover scholarly conversations (library databases: journal articles)
4. Support your argument (source citation)
5. Drafts & revisions (research librarians, writing center, CSA)
