Student Organizations Records Toolkit: Donation

This guide is to help student organizations preserve and organize their records or prepare them for donation to the University Archives.

Should you donate your groups records to the University Archives?

The University Archives is equipped with all the materials to preserve the history of your organization. We already have some items in our collections and would love to add yours so that current, past, and future members will always have access to your records.

Donation Process

  1. Contact the University Archivist. I'm here to help you!
  2. Gather and organize your materials. (See organizational tips on "The Records" page.)
  3. Bring your collection to the Nabb Research Center on the 4th floor of the Academic Commons.
  4. Complete a short transfer form - this indicates what you donated, when you donated it and who donated it.
  5. Relax and celebrate that your organization's history will be continuously preserved in perpetuity.
  6. Continue to add materials to your collection whenever you want and access your materials in the Nabb Research Center's reading room whenever we are open!
