Green Earth Book Award (GEBA)
The Green Earth Book Award is the nation’s first environmental stewardship book award for children and young adult books. The Nature Generation partners with Salisbury University to bestow this award annually. The award promotes books that inspire children to grow a deeper appreciation, respect, and responsibility for their natural environment.
Hans Christian Andersen Award
The Hans Christian Andersen Award, from the International Board on Books for Young People (IBBY), is presented every two years to a living author and illustrator who has made a remarkable and continuous contribution to children’s literature.
Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award
The Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award is presented annually to a single author or several authors, illustrators, oral storytellers and reading promoters from any nation in the world.
American Library Association (ALA) Youth Media Awards

Mildred L. Batchelder Award
The Mildred L. Batchelder is an award for a children's book considered to be the most outstanding of those books originally published in a foreign language in a foreign country, and subsequently translated into English and published in the United States.
Pura Belpré Awards
The Pura Belpré Award is presented annually to a Latino/Latina writer and illustrator whose work best portrays, affirms, and celebrates the Latino cultural experience in an outstanding work of literature for children and youth.
Randolph Caldecott Medal
The Randolph Caldecott Medal is awarded annually to the artist of the most distinguished American picture book for children.
Schneider Family Book Award
The Schneider Family Book Awards honor an author or illustrator for a book that embodies an artistic expression of the disability experience for child and adolescent audiences.
Robert F. Sibert Informational Book Medal
The Robert F. Sibert Informational Book Medal is awarded annually to the author(s) and illustrator(s) of the most distinguished informational book published in the United States in English during the preceding year.
Stonewall Book Award
Stonewall Book Award is given annually to English-language works of exceptional merit for children or teens relating to the gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender experience.
Theodor Seuss Geisel Award
The Theodor Seuss Geisel Award is given annually to the author(s) and illustrator(s) of the most distinguished American book for beginning readers published in English in the United States during the preceding year.
YALSA Award for Excellence in Nonfiction for Young Adults
YALSA's Award for Excellence in Nonfiction honors the best nonfiction book published for young adults (ages 12-18) during a Nov. 1 – Oct. 31 publishing year.
