Brainstorm Keywords

Consider the ways you might broaden or narrow a research question to get the most useful information. Run some searches in Google or library databases to see what kinds of keywords professionals use to discuss a topic. Think about the who, what, where, when, why, and how of a research or information topic.

Example: What are the physiological effects of atmospheric pressure on inexperienced hikers?

Keywords: physiology      atmospheric pressure      hiker

Related keywords might include:

Altitude sickness; mountain sickness; high-altitude cerebral edema; hypoxemia; cognition

non-athlete; layperson; pediatric; international traveler; lowlander
