Search strategy: Phrase searching

Before we search for reviews, magazine articles, scholarly sources, or books, here's an important tip:

Keyword search strategy: Phrase Searching

  • When searching any search engine, including Google, wrap the title of this film in quotation marks: "Adjustment Bureau." This tells a search engine to find only content that contains this specific two-word phrase. This is a search strategy called Phrase Searching.
  • Without phrase searching, a database will provide you with article results in which some contain the word Adjustment and other entire articles that contains the word Bureau.
  • Phrase searching tells a search engine that you only want content containing those two words with Adjustment first and Bureau after.

In search results, be aware that the title Adjustment Bureau is quite generic. No matter what search strategy you use, you'll need to recognize and ignore irrelevant search results about real-world insurance companies, business practices, legal cases, etc.

To help this, you might try adding Nolfi, 2011, "film," or a combination of these to the main title.
