The Myth of the Nice Girl

I highly recommend for females in the workplace, especially those who are “too nice,” to read, The Myth of the Nice Girl: an excellent, educational and useful novel. It is a book that will give you hope and guidance towards a successful future in your personal life and in the business world. It gives tips and advice on several topics: how to handle situations at work, how to develop self-confidence, ways to saying “no” while maintain strong relationships with your colleagues and the list can go on. The book will give you the correct tools and easy strategies to help you succeed at work without compromising your own values. The author tells the readers her own work experiences and sticky situations but also, how she conquered and handled them. She also challenges our notions of what it means to be a female leader/boss. Each chapter has its own lesson, filled with real experiences that is connected to specifics tips and ideas. If you are faced with a tough situation at work and not sure how to handle it, you can always go back to the book for reassurance. What I appreciate the most about the novel is that it made me realized that I am not alone. Many females have and are still are. facing obstacles at work such as inappropriate jokes, not moving up on the ladder at work while their male co-workers are or constantly being told negative comments. The novel will take your career to the next level without losing yourself in the process.
