Me Before You
Review by Laura T.
Me Before You is an enticingly heartbreaking novel that captures readers interest from the very beginning and holds it all the way through the epilogue. It is about Louisa Clark, a seemingly ordinary girl with a long-term boyfriend and a supportive family, who hasn't had many experiences beyond her little town. When she loses her job unexpectedly, the Job Center helps her find the Traynor family, whose son, Will, is a quadriplegic due to an accident two years prior. Louisa takes over as his caregiver and starts to figure out that Will is moody, bossy, and not interested in many things with this new life of his. After learning more about him, she is determined to show him that life is worth living, despite the obstacles he faces daily. They start taking various day trips and even plan longer trips that will help encourage and accommodate Will to do some activities he could only do before the accident. The two start to enjoy each others presence and there is a new surprise on every page, making this novel one that is hard to put down.
Me Before You will make you think about your own relationships and experiences and question if you truly live your life to the fullest.
