Anthropology: Citation Styles for Anthropology

What is RefWorks?

RefWorks is a citation management tool that can help researchers cite sources in styles most commonly used at SU like APA, MLA, Chicago, Turabian, ACS, AMA, and thousands of others. With this tool, researchers can gather, organize, read, annotate, and cite their research sources. Additionally, RefWorks can be used as an online collaboration space that enables groups of researchers to work together from any location.

Get started:

1. At the bottom of the library homepage, you can find the RefWorks icon under the Commonly Used Resources banner.

2. From the Citation Style Guide, located under Library Resources & Guides on the library homepage. Find "Citation" under the Subject Guides menu.

3. From just about any Subject Guide available through the library (found under Library Resources & Guides). Find the Cite Sources tab, and find the box for RefWorks.

Citing in Anthropology

Citation styles for Anthropology are varied depending on what focus you have.  The two main citation styles for Anthropology that you will find while taking classes at Salisbury University are the Chicago Citation Style method of citing, and the Society of American Archaeology (SAA) Citation Style.

  • The SAA style can be found via the direct SAA website.
  • For the Chicago method of citing, we have created a Chicago/Turabian page providing citation information, guidelines, and examples.

About Chicago/Turabian
