What's New with MLA 8 vs MLA 7

How do I Library?: How to Create an Annotated Bibliography

Remember!

You have the most control over your citations. Always be sure to double check the citations you create.  If you are using Refworks (see link on left) or some other citation software to create your citations, there can be errors that need to be corrected. (If you don't already have a Refworks account, click on Proquest Refworks (upper left) and then click on "Create Account" at the bottom of the login page.)

You may check your citations using the Online MLA Resources (see below) or the MLA Handbook or the Everyday Writer (We have a copy of each at the Research Help Desk).

NOTE: There is also the Purdue Owl website (see below), but they have started inserting advertisements into the regular guide, so we are trying to use other online sources. The Purdue Owl Youtube Video Series is still useful and w/o ads.    I have left the UMUC, Purdue Owl and other sources on this webpage for you to choose what works best for you. Just remember to use MLA  8 unless otherwise directed by your professor.
