eBooks

Electronic books (eBooks) offer convenience to the reader; you can read them from anywhere! These full-text electronic books are available through the library catalog.

We have electronic books from different vendors, for example - EBSCO ebooks, ProQuest ebooks, etc. As a result, they will look different and the download process may be slightly different. Some have single user license which means they may be 'virtually checked out' when you are trying to access them. Virtual check out time varies from title to title. If this sounds a little complicated and you run into issues while downloading an ebook, feel free to call the Research Help Desk or contact us via chat.

Intercampus Borrowing

After checking the library catalog if you find out that we don't have the book that you are looking for, we can still get it from one of the other USMAI libraries.

Remember you need to choose your campus (for ex. USM Hagerstown, Shady Grove) as your pick-up location.

If it is a book that Library has in Salisbury, you'll need to request it through interlibrary loan form! We will send the book to the library on your campus and you go there to pick it up.

** If all this sounds confusing, please contact me or Amy Jones (amjones@salisbury.edu), and we will walk you through it.

Interlibrary Loan Borrowing

In case you cannot find a book from one of the USMAI libraries, no worries. We can get it from libraries outside the University of Maryland system. You will need to request it through ILLiad (our ILL mechanism).

If you are a distance student, make sure to note that in the ILL form. If you have any questions while filling out the form, feel free to contact me or one of the library staff members. Y
