African American Newspapers

During the 19th and early 20th century, African American writers sometimes published articles, stories, poems, and other writings in newspapers that were created by and for African Americans.  Some of the these African American newspapers are available online through the database called Accessible Archives.  When you open this electronic resource, click on the tab "Collections," and you will see the link for African American Newspapers in the column on the right.
