Academic Commons: GAC Spaces

The Academic Commons is nearly four times larger than , and it’s also twice as tall at four floors. With a footprint slightly larger than Caruthers, it will be clearly visible from all parts of main campus and will be the largest building on campus.  

 

 ~ Interesting fact:  the square footage of just the 3rd floor of the GAC is
roughly equivalent to the entire square footage of Library! ~

The GAC will contain:

  • smart classrooms for library based information-literacy instruction
  • individual and group study spaces
  • multimedia labs and flexible technology configurations
  • wired student lockers for recharging mobile devices
  • 400+ desk and laptop computers
  • 290+ monitors with larger ones for group work and teaching
  • 18 study rooms
  • a Maker Lab (details to the right)
