+Assignment and research approach

Class Project/Presentation: During the semester, students will construct a research paper and presentation examining the history and physical geography of a national park of their choosing, with instructor’s approval. You will use SU’s library to obtain information from newspaper article databases, journal articles, and government documents with the aid of a guide and tutorial provided by our science librarian. Your will also download meteorological and climatic data to analyze and visualize for inclusion in your paper and presentation.

Student presentations to the class will occur during the last week of the semester and the final exam period. The University Writing Center is an excellent resource to evaluate the descriptions and citations included in your presentation. Keep up with the project throughout the semester! All papers will be submitted to Turnitin through MyClasses.

With this tool, researchers can gather, organize, read, annotate, and cite their research sources. Plus, RefWorks creates an online collaboration space that enables groups of researchers to work together from any location.
